CZ Shadow 2 grips
CZ Shadow 2 grips
The CZ Shadow 2 was unveiled in 2016 at IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg, Germany, as the next-generation evolution of the legendary CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow (introduced 2006), purpose-built for IPSC Production and Production Optics divisions
Developed in close collaboration with elite CZ Shooting Team members—including shooters like Angus Hobdell and Adam Tyc—the project focused on feedback from top competitors to create a superior competition pistol. Key upgrades from the SP-01 Shadow include a longer 4.89-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, extended sight radius, reshaped lighter slide with aggressive serrations, heavier frame for reduced recoil, enhanced grip ergonomics with aggressive checkering, improved DA/SA trigger (no firing pin block), fiber-optic front sight, and Novak-style adjustable rear sight
Chambered in 9mm Luger with 19+1 capacity (high-cap magazines), the all-steel design emphasized accuracy, low bore axis, soft recoil, and shootability—earning immediate acclaim as one of the most dominant pistols in dynamic shooting
Since launch, the CZ Shadow 2 has claimed multiple IPSC World Championships, USPSA titles, and widespread adoption (often 60%+ of top shooters in Production divisions). Variants like Shadow 2 OR (optics-ready, 2018+), Target, and Carry followed, cementing its status as a benchmark competition handgun blending CZ heritage with modern performance
