Spyderco Zulu handle scales

Spyderco Zulu handle scales

The Spyderco Zulu (C145) was introduced in 2011 as the second collaboration between Spyderco and renowned Danish custom knifemaker Jens Anso. Inspired by Anso’s innovative approach that modernized traditional European knifemaking, the Zulu became part of Spyderco’s Ethnic Series

Anso, who began crafting knives as a teenager after reading a Popular Mechanics article, pioneered the distinctive “Anso pattern” with its sculpted, topographical G-10 handle scales chiseled for superior grip and a striking scimitar-shaped CPM-S30V blade featuring a large-radius hollow grind and tapered spine swedge. Produced in Spyderco’s Taichung, Taiwan factory with a Walker LinerLock and trademark Round Hole, the Zulu blended avant-garde aesthetics with exceptional ergonomics and cutting performance

Though production was limited (2011–2012), the Zulu remains a cult classic among collectors for its radical yet highly functional design that redefined production folders
