Spyderco Resilience handle scales

The Spyderco Resilience (model C142, often grouped with the Value Line) is the largest and most robust member of Spyderco's affordable Value Folders series, delivering big-blade performance at an entry-level price

Following the success of the Tenacious (2008) and Persistence (2009)—compact, China-made folders with G-10 scales, liner lock, full-flat grind, Trademark Round Hole™, jimping, and four-position clip—Spyderco expanded the lineup for users wanting more cutting power

The Resilience launched in 2011, designed under Sal Glesser and Eric Glesser's direction. It features a massive 4.25" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade (longer than many Spyderco icons like the Military), black textured G-10 handles over skeletonized liners, and a sturdy Walker liner lock—all while staying lightweight at ~5.4 oz and priced around $45–75 retail

Positioned as an upsized Tenacious, it offers exceptional edge length and durability for hard-use tasks, proving Spyderco could bring high-quality features to budget-conscious EDC, tactical, and outdoor enthusiasts

Later variants (Lightweight FRN scales in 2021, S35VN steel upgrades) broadened its appeal, cementing the Resilience as a best-value large folder in Spyderco's accessible lineup
