ESEE Junglas handle scales
In 2007–2008, ESEE Knives—founded by survival experts Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin after years training with Peruvian and Colombian jungle forces—designed the Junglas (pronounced "Hoonglas") as a hybrid fixed blade/machete. Inspired by the Colombian Compañía Jungla Antinarcóticos (Jungla Special Operations Forces), it was crafted for dense tropical environments, clearing coca plants, and counter-narcotics ops while offering fixed-blade rigidity over traditional machete flexibility
The ESEE Junglas features a 10.5-inch drop-point blade in tough 1095 high-carbon steel (powder coat finish, full-flat grind) for exceptional chopping, batoning, and slicing durability. Weighing ~22.5 oz (33 oz with sheath), it includes removable Micarta handles, hammer pommel with lanyard hole, and Kydex sheath—ideal for jungle survival knives, bushcraft, and heavy field tasks
Debuting around 2008–2009, it quickly became ESEE's flagship large blade, praised for unbreakable toughness and ESEE's lifetime warranty. The Junglas-II (shorter 8.38-inch blade) followed in 2018 for more compact carry
The ESEE Cleaver (CL1, collaboration with Expat Knives) launched in 2017 (release June 28, 2017) as a specialized outdoor wilderness tool with a broad cleaver blade in 1095 for heavy chopping and processing—expanding ESEE's lineup into dedicated cleaver designs while maintaining USA-made quality and real-world reliability in survival knives and tactical fixed blades
