ESEE handle scales

ESEE Knives, a leading American brand in survival knives and bushcraft blades, traces its roots to 1997 when survival experts Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin founded Randall’s Adventure & Training (RAT) after years teaching jungle survival in Peru's Amazon under contract with the Peruvian Air Force (Escuela de Supervivencia En La Selva / ESSEL)

Frustrated with inadequate gear, they began designing practical tools. Early collaborations included the RTAK (Wicked Knife Co., later Ontario Knife Co. / OKC) and Laser Strike (TOPS Knives). From ~2002–2007, they developed the RAT line for OKC, building reputation for rugged, field-proven designs

In 2007, they rebranded as ESEE Knives (from "ES" in Escuela + "EE" for Escape & Evasion) under Trans Equatorial Solutions, Inc., partnering with Rowen Manufacturing (Idaho) for USA-made models. Focused on 1095 carbon steel durability, no-nonsense fixed blades (ESEE-3, ESEE-4, ESEE-5, Izula), and unbreakable warranties, ESEE gained cult status in survival knives, tactical fixed blades, and bushcraft EDC

Headquartered in Alabama with global distribution, ESEE remains committed to real-world reliability, lifetime no-questions-asked service, and survival-first philosophy—earning trust among military, outdoorsmen, and professionals worldwide
