The Laugo Arms Alien pistol was conceived by Slovakian designer Ján Lučanský—creator of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3—who first envisioned a low-bore-axis, non-reciprocating-slide handgun in 2003 while prototyping the Scorpion. After leaving Česká zbrojovka (CZ) in 2013, Lučanský dedicated three years to formal development, building prototypes and securing patents for its revolutionary gas-delayed blowback system, fixed barrel, ultra-low bore axis (1.7mm below grip), and stationary top rail for optics

In 2017, Lučanský partnered with former CZ marketing director Ondřej Poděl and investor Daniel Selichar to form Laugo Arms Czechoslovakia in Prague, shifting from independent design to full manufacturing. The Alien was first teased on social media in 2018

It officially debuted at IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg, Germany, in March 2019, stunning attendees with its futuristic design, minimal muzzle flip, lightning-fast follow-ups, and competition-ready features (4.8-inch barrel, single-action hammer-fired trigger, modular chassis). A limited run of 500 pistols began production in 2019

The Alien won Recoil Magazine's top award at SHOT Show 2020 (U.S. debut via Lancer Systems partnership). Deliveries started in 2020 despite COVID delays. Later evolutions like the Alien Creator (2021+) refined grip angle, optics integration, and ergonomics while preserving core DNA—solidifying the Alien as one of the most innovative 9mm semi-autos for competition and precision shooting
