The Xenomorph King (also called Alien King, Rogue, or Monstrosity) is a rare, massive variant in the Alien franchise expanded universe, primarily from Dark Horse Comics. First introduced in Aliens: Rogue (1993) by Ian Edginton and Will Simpson, the Rogue—nicknamed the "King"—was a genetically engineered human-Xenomorph hybrid created by mad scientist Professor Ernst Kleist at Charon Base as part of Project Chimera

Intended as a controllable male counterpart to the Queen to dominate or destroy hives, the King stood taller (over 5–7 meters), bulkier, and more aggressive than natural Xenomorphs or Queens, with immense strength but lacking the Queen's cunning intelligence and egg-laying role. In the comic, it battled a Queen but was ultimately defeated by her superior tactics, proving nature's dominance

Later lore (Xenopedia, Sideshow Collectibles designs) theorizes natural Kings in ultra-large hives as ground-shaking giants for defense, though they remain non-canon in main films (where Queens rule reproduction). The King symbolizes experimental hubris and primal power in comics, novels, and fan theories, never appearing in core movies like Alien (1979) or Aliens (1986)
