Geri and Freki ("the ravenous" and "the greedy") are the legendary twin wolves of Odin in Norse mythology. Described in the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda (13th century), they accompany the Allfather everywhere, symbolizing his warrior ferocity and eternal hunger for knowledge and battle

Odin feeds them scraps from his table while he drinks only mead, yet they remain ever ravenous—mirroring the insatiable nature of war and wisdom. Geri and Freki are often depicted flanking Odin on his high seat Hliðskjálf or during the hunt with Sleipnir and the ravens Huginn and Muninn
