This involves rounding or cutting the rear lower corner of the mainspring housing and frame (popularized by Ed Brown’s Bobtail® system), reducing printing for better concealed carry while preserving a near-full grip length and magazine capacity (typically 7+1 or 8+1 in .45 ACP). It retains the 5-inch barrel, steel construction, single-action trigger, thumb safety, and grip safety.
