Gearhead Archery is a Wisconsin-based innovator in the archery industry, specializing in rugged, American-made compound hunting bows with unique gear-driven designs
Founded in 2008 by Paul Trpkovski (creative visionary) and Skip Peterson (machining expert), the company began as a "think tank" in a Wisconsin robotics factory. Frustrated with traditional compound bows, they prototyped radical innovations—eliminating conventional cams in favor of spring-powered systems and gear timing—for superior durability, accuracy, and performance in extreme hunting conditions
Early prototypes evolved into production models like the T18 and Multi-Cam series, emphasizing compact, high-performing bows for hardcore bowhunters. Gearhead gained traction through word-of-mouth among elite shooters and record-holding hunters
Key milestones:
- 2015–2019: Expanded with leadership (e.g., Eric Rapp as CEO in 2019), boosting visibility
- 2020: Partnered with Pope and Young Club
- 2022: Acquired by Peterson Archery LLC (Skip Peterson's group), ensuring continued innovation and U.S. manufacturing in Antigo/Prairie du Sac, WI
Today, Gearhead Archery stands for purposefully different, gear-powered bows—trusted for reliability, innovation, and Made-in-USA quality in the competitive hunting bow market
