The Reate J.A.C.K. was introduced in 2018 as a flagship high-end folder from Reate Knives, the Chinese manufacturer founded by David Deng in 2012. Designed by Jack Chen (Solo Jack Chen), the model takes its name from a suggestion made by Rainer Wenning at the 2018 IWA Show: “J.A.C.K.” stands for “Just A Compact Knife” and also honors its designer
Built to showcase Reate’s CNC precision and custom-level finishing, the original J.A.C.K. featured an integral 6Al4V titanium handle milled from a single piece of metal, a frame lock, double-row ceramic bearings, and a 3.94-inch clip-point blade in Bohler M390 or Damasteel. Brass or marble carbon fiber inlays and multiple anodized finishes completed the limited run of roughly 650 pieces across 16 versions
