GiantMouse Knives, a premium EDC knife brand blending Danish design with American spirit, was founded in 2015 by renowned Danish custom knifemakers Jesper Voxnaes (Vox) and Jens Ansø, alongside American entrepreneur Jim Wirth. The idea sparked over drinks one evening at a US knife show (often cited as the Biblio Bar in Brooklyn), where the trio decided to create knives they truly wanted to carry—retaining full creative control, collaborating closely, and having fun

Officially launched in September 2015, operations based in California, the brand adopted a unique approach: limited-edition runs to test innovative materials, designs, and concepts. Their first folder, the GM1 (Anso/Vox collaboration), was produced in Italy in a run of 400 units—quickly selling out and setting the tone for high-quality, artistic folding knives

The name GiantMouse nods to Danish design's global influence despite the small country's size—a "giant impact from a mouse." Early hits like the GM1, Biblio (unlimited series), and later models (e.g., Riv, Nimbus, Nazca) earned praise for refined ergonomics, premium steels (M390, Elmax), titanium frames, and bold aesthetics—ideal for everyday carry (EDC knives), tactical use, and collectors

By 2025 (10th anniversary), GiantMouse had become a cult favorite for innovative, fun collaborations and exceptional fit/finish (often Maniago, Italy production). In early 2025, Jens Ansø departed to focus on his solo brand Ansø of Denmark, but the core vision endures under Vox and Wirth
