CIVIVI, a leading brand in affordable premium EDC knives, was launched in 2018 by WE Knife Co., the renowned Chinese manufacturer founded in 2000 in Yangjiang, Guangdong. WE Knife, started by Joe Cheung (a former teacher turned entrepreneur), began as an OEM producer before rising to prominence for high-end titanium folders and premium steels

Recognizing market demand for high-quality, functional everyday carry knives at accessible prices, WE introduced CIVIVI to bridge the gap—offering innovative designs, top-tier materials (like S35VN, Nitro-V, button locks, flippers), and exceptional fit/finish without the premium cost of WE's flagship line

The name CIVIVI derives from Chinese characters meaning "happiness" (CI) and "joy" (VI), reflecting its mission to bring joy through reliable, stylish tools. Early hits like the Elementum, Praxis, and Conspirator exploded in popularity for their value, smooth action, and modern aesthetics—quickly making CIVIVI a favorite among EDC enthusiasts, budget-conscious collectors, and outdoor users worldwide

As a sister brand to WE (and later Sencut for even more entry-level options), CIVIVI solidified its reputation through consistent innovation, collaborations (e.g., with designers like Ben Petersen), and community-driven releases—proving premium performance doesn't require a high price tag in the folding knife world
