The legendary Böker story begins in the 17th century in Remscheid, Germany, where the Boker family forged tools beside a mighty chestnut tree—registering the iconic Tree Brand trademark in 1674 as a symbol of quality that endures today

In 1829, brothers Hermann and Robert Boker pivoted to saber production amid rising demand for edged weapons, scaling to 2,000 pieces weekly by 1830. Expansion followed: Hermann founded H. Boker & Co. in New York in 1837, bringing the brand to America, while Robert established operations in Canada and Boker Mexico in 1865

The modern Böker Manufaktur was born in 1869 when cousin Heinrich Boker partnered with cutlery expert Hermann Heuser to found Heinr. Boker & Co. in Solingen—the "City of Blades"—focusing on razors, scissors, and premium pocket knives

Surviving World War II destruction (Solingen factory rebuilt in the 1950s with U.S. branch managing the trademark temporarily), Böker grew into a global leader in premium knives, tactical folders, Damascus steel editions, and collector pieces. The Tree Brand remains synonymous with German craftsmanship, innovation, and heritage in EDC, hunting, and outdoor knives
