PHX Phoenix AG, a premium Swiss firearms manufacturer specializing in high-end 9mm pistols for IPSC, IDPA, and precision shooting, traces its roots to the legendary Sphinx Systems lineage

The story begins in the late 1980s with ITM (Industrial Technology & Machines AG) producing CZ 75-based AT-84 and AT-88 pistols under license. In the early 1990s, Sphinx System AG (Matten bei Interlaken) evolved the design into the renowned AT-2000 and later Sphinx 3000 series — prized for exceptional accuracy, fit, and competition performance

In 2012, the US-Swiss KRISS Group acquired Sphinx, but financial issues led to bankruptcy in 2015. Former Sphinx founder and champion IPSC shooter Armin Landolt seized the opportunity: he established PHX Phoenix AG around 2016–2017, acquiring key machinery from the bankruptcy estate

Phoenix revived the heritage with the Redback model unveiled at IWA 2018 — an improved, all-steel evolution of the Sphinx platform with superior ergonomics, zero-play slide-to-frame fit, and cold-hammer-forged barrels. The lineup expanded to include Fusion, Predator, and flagship Drake series (Production and Standard variants), all hand-assembled in Interlaken/Leissigen, Switzerland

Known for Swiss precision craftsmanship, Phoenix pistols target competitive shooters and authorities, with ongoing Gen 2 updates and U.S. distribution via partners like B&T USA
