Varusteleka (Terävä) Skrama 80 handle scales

The Varusteleka Terävä Jääkäripuukko 85 and Skrama 80 are compact, rugged additions to the Terävä lineup—Varusteleka's in-house brand for sharp, no-nonsense Finnish knives

Terävä launched around 2012–2013 after Varusteleka struggled with inconsistent stock of popular ranger knives like the Peltonen Sissipuukko. To fill the gap for Finnish soldiers, hunters, and bushcrafters, they developed originals made by Laurin Metalli in Kauhava—traditional puukko heartland—using proven 80CrV2 carbon steel (59 HRC), Scandi grind with secondary bevel, and full-tang construction

The Jääkäripuukko ("Jaeger Knife") honors Finland's elite light infantry heritage (Jääkäri from German Jaeger training ties). The full-size versions debuted ~2013; the compact Jääkäripuukko 85 (85 mm blade, 185 mm overall, ~125 g) followed as a handy, detailed-task puukko—drop-point profile, ferro rod spine, ideal for EDC, wilderness, or home use

Inspired by the same demand for versatile tools, the Skrama series (from "Scramasax/Seax"—ancient single-edged short sword) emerged in 2013 (larger 240 mm first). The Skrama 80 (80 mm blade, 185 mm overall, ~125 g, sheepsfoot profile) arrived later as a mini version—doubling as chopper, cutter, and all-purpose blade with axe-like utility in a pocketable package

Both Kauhava-made models share identical steel, thickness (3.25 mm), and 23° edge angle—affordable (~$40–$50), durable, and beloved for bushcraft, survival, and everyday tasks

The scales are compatible with various modifications of the Varusteleka (Terävä) model:
