CZ 75 compact grips
CZ 75 compact grips
The CZ 75 compact was introduced in 1992 by Česká zbrojovka (CZ) in Uherský Brod as a concealed-carry and duty-oriented variant of the legendary CZ 75 (designed 1975 by František and Josef Koucký, production from 1976)
Responding to demand for a more compact 9mm service pistol—especially after the fall of communism and opening of Western markets—CZ shortened the grip (for 13+1 capacity with standard magazines) and barrel to 3.75 inches, retaining the full-size frame's ergonomics, low bore axis, forged steel construction, DA/SA trigger, and slide-inside-frame rails for superior accuracy and reliability
Early models (pre-1997) featured all-steel builds with serials starting "A"; later alloy-framed versions like the CZ 75 D Compact (1997+) added decocker-only (D model) and police-specific features (PČR Compact). The Compact preserved the CZ 75's hallmark shootability in a smaller package (7.2 inches overall, ~32 oz), making it ideal for law enforcement, military backup, and civilian carry
It bridged the classic CZ 75 to modern compacts like the P-01 (2001), earning praise for balance, soft recoil, and versatility—remaining a popular choice for enthusiasts seeking proven performance in a concealable form
