Hi. My name is Vladimir Svechnikov. I'm an artist.

Make Your Gun & Knife Beautiful!

But first a bit of story...

In 2014, I got a professional production equipment thanks to my father (Konstantin Svechnikov). I love you father! I had no idea what to do with and how lucky I was with it. It was only in 2015 that I began to take the first steps in studying modeling, practice to writing control programs, developing designs and translating an idea into a finished product. Sound simple? Hahaha. Even after many years, I find new ways to be more productive and wonder how much I still don't know.

In 2015, in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), I present my first product to the world public - a phone case with a carved wooden insert. This is where my craft began. In two years, I added support for over 200 different phone models. Starting from the most ancient Galaxy and ending with the most modern Apple iPhone, Huawei and so on. I deliberately removed photos from my social networks with finished works, because my product did not stand the test of time. But I gained experience, got acquainted with various types of wood, paints, protective materials, photo and video processing programs.

It was a great time to get out of my comfort zone. I quit my previous official job and devoted myself entirely to my workshop. It was quite a risky move at the time. I was married. But I was also belive that with enough effort and time, the result would exceed all expectations. If only everyone would believe in my success. I divorced my wife.

In 2017, in Moscow (Russia), I built a new workshop. I started looking for new products that I can produce. The production of children's toys did not inspire me, so I took up adult toys. Stop! It's not what you might think. I became interested in grips for firearms. So in 2018, the Gun Grips project appeared.

If very briefly. In general, it's very funny. First I found a photo of a 1911 pistol. I took rough measurements in a photo editor. I cut out three completely different designs and posted them on Etsy. Purely for fun. What was my surprise when offers rained down on me. And then I realized that this should be taken more seriously. First, there were several grips for 1911 and Beretta 92FS. I also got to know Amazon. And all this took place in a modest workshop measuring 5 square meters, in a country where only a certain category of citizens have weapons.

My younger brother Ivan taught me how to use a professional modeling program in one hour. Now I don't have to bother him and I can create 3D models to work on my own. Thank you, brother! A year later, I already knew such manufacturers as Arex, Bersa, Browning, Coonan, Colt, CZ, Hudson, Kimber, Laugo Arms, Phoenix, Rock Island, Ruger, SAR, Sig Sauer, Springfield, Star, Smith & Wesson, Tanfoglio, Taurus, Zastava and etc.

In 2021, Etsy updates its safety policy and prohibits the sale of anything related to firearms. Sad, but not deadly. I need to activate my fantasy again and adapt to this trouble. This trouble became an opportunity. So at the end of 2021, a new project based on Gun Grips appeared with the name Svechnikov Knives.

At the beginning of 2022, the war began in Ukraine. It became impossible to develop a workshop and do what I love stayed in Russia. Everything is very disgusting.

I have lived all my life in Russia. But I very keenly feel the need to connect with the whole world. I decide to move and organize my workshop in another country. The choice was made in favor of northern Europe for many personal reasons. I applied for a residence permit in Finland and received permission after two months.

In mid 2022, in Masala (Finland), I built a new workshop. Again, lol.

Life in a new country. New rules. Different people. Big opportunities. Big changes. For 2023, I've added support for nearly a hundred new weapon and knife models and continue to add news to this day. Met the guys from Varusteleka, Lamnia and Forgotten Weapons. I started learning Finnish. It is an amazing language, but to be able to speak it calmly with my neighbors, I will have to try very hard. I can do it!

In 2024, in Imatra (Finland), I built a new workshop. It may seem like it's my hobby to constantly move and build new workshops, but no. Now my workspace has tripled in size, allowing me to expand my abilities. What's going to happen next? To be continued...

With best regards. Vladimir
